Jim graduated with a Masters Degree in Counseling from Cal State Fullerton in 1996, and has presented Psychotherapy Training Workshops for the Irvine Unified School District, Irvine Senior Center, Olive Crest Group Homes, OCSSA, and the California State Foster Parent Training Conference. He has facilitated Music Based Therapy Groups at Cypress College Independent Living Program, OC Probation Department, Irvine Community Services and Childhelp. Jim's Masters Degree Thesis was written documenting the Psycho-physiological Implications of Rhythm in Human Behavior and he conducted a series of original ADHD research at Orangewood Children’s Home. He has been awarded City, State, and Federal Grants for his innovative work with Children, Teenagers, Foster Children, and “At-Risk” Youth in California.

MBT Therapist / Out Patient Therapist at Childhelp Merv Griffin Village, Beaumont, California 2008 to 2010. Responsible for ongoing psychotherapy with youth age 6 to 14, living in residential group home setting, and out-patient children living with foster Parents. Clinical experience including ongoing psychosocial assessments, master treatment plans, needs and service plans, treatment notes and billing. Designed and implemented innovative Music Based Therapy Program.

Contract Therapist for Trinity Family Services in Corona, CA. Worked with youth ages 12-18 in teen diversion program for probation department. Clients perpetrators of violent crimes, sexual assaults, and substance abuse and alcohol related problems. Clinical treatment included groups, family and individual treatment of minors.
